Purity
Pl. 01Purity — The pond as a room
One afternoon, one pond, and water like velvet
A face rising out of green water. It was shot in a single afternoon and graded until the pond felt like velvet. Six frames survived out of about two hundred.
Every plate, bound in one sequence

Three disciplines, one eye
I.Photography
Fol. 003
Six studies, each living inside its own color. The strongest frame goes first, and anything that didn't make it stronger was cut.
Pl. 01Purity — The pond as a room
One afternoon, one pond, and water like velvet
A face rising out of green water. It was shot in a single afternoon and graded until the pond felt like velvet. Six frames survived out of about two hundred.
One person, one red room, and nowhere to hide
The red room takes everything else away, so the smallest gesture, a lowered eye or a parted curtain, carries the whole frame. The red was lit, not painted.
Gothic, turned inside out and flooded with light
A white dress, bleached branches, skin one stop from disappearing. The same mood as the dark work, told in light. Only the eyes and mouth keep their contrast.
Lace, flash, and the softness of skin
Hard flash on black lace, with the skin left soft on purpose. It's the newest study here, and the closest to where the work is heading.
A red coat, a brick wall, and a stance like a building
A red coat against city brick. Scale, posture, and color turn an ordinary corner into a stage, and the coat does the rest.
Blue light, somewhere between waking and sleep
Close frames, a held gaze, and the strange quiet just before sleep. This is the first study I ever made, and everything else grew from it.
II.Fashion design
Fol. 004
Six garments and the artwork they were cut from. Sacred pictures printed edge to edge, front and back, so the eye never gets to rest.
Every piece begins as a flat panel wrapped to the pattern, so the composition breaks across a shoulder seam rather than sitting politely on a chest.
III.Graphic design
Fol. 005
Four record sleeves I made for myself, leaned against the red wall. Reign comes first, the only one built from nothing.
Self-directed studies. Three build on existing sleeve or press material and are neither commissioned by nor affiliated with the artists or labels; Reign is wholly original.
